What happens first?
An appointment will be made for you to meet our wedding coordinator after your arrival. All aspects of your wedding will be discussed starting with how you will obtain your marriage licence, moving onto any wedding extras that you require such as photographs and flowers etc, through to arranging your all important wedding reception. Finally the running order of how things will be on your big day. Please bring with you all of your legal documents. If you have any worries or specific requests, please let us know, as we are here to take all the stress away from yourselves so that you can relax and enjoy your special day, confident that everything is being taken care for you. Everything that is discussed at your initial meeting and all wedding extras you have arranged through our wedding co-ordinator will be booked and confirmed for you. She will then put together a letter for you, detailing all the timings for your wedding day and what exactly will be happening on the day. If when you have received your letter or at any time, you have any questions, queries or worries please do not hesitate to contact your wedding co-ordinator who will be able to answer your questions and put your minds at rest.
How do we obtain our wedding licence?
At your initial meeting with your wedding co-ordinator, she will check that you have all the relevant documents needed in order for you to get your licence. Your wedding coordinator will then complete some paperwork with you to prepare your licence with the Town Hall before you go.
Your Town Hall Declaration Appointment
The easiest way for you to get to the Town Hall is by taxi. Your hotel reception or wedding co-ordinator will be happy to arrange one for you. Our wedding co-ordinator will meet you at the Town Hall and accompany throughout the appointment. The documents you need to bring to the Town Hall with you are:
You will be asked to sign some paperwork, firstly a declaration, which is similar to your affidavits to say that you are free and single to marry. The other is your particular’s form (which will have been re-typed in the Town Hall’s format). Please check these very carefully for any mistakes. If any have been made, then please correct and sign. It is vital that the information on this form is correct, as this is the information that will appear on your marriage certificate. If you sign this form and it has incorrect information then your wedding certificate will be incorrect and cannot be changed. You will then be asked to hand over your documents. The Town Hall will keep your original affidavits / decree absolutes for their files. You will then pay for your licence. If you are having a Town Hall wedding, the licence will be kept by the Town Hall. If you are having a Church wedding then a Certificate of Notification will be issued to your wedding co-ordinator. She will then pass this to the Church and this will be given back to you on the day along with your marriage certificate. You will need 2 witnesses for your wedding. They must be over 18 and can be related to you. You will need to supply the full names and passport numbers of each person. Don’t worry if you have no one accompanying you for the wedding as your Wedding Co-ordinator and a Town Hall or Church official can act as your witnesses.
Do we see the wedding location / vows prior to our wedding?
If you are having a Town Hall wedding, after your appointment, your wedding co-ordinator will show you the room / area that the ceremony will take place in and advise you where you will be standing. Don’t worry about having to memorise the vows, as you will repeat them after the marriage officer.
We are having a Church Wedding, what happens at the appointment?
At this appointment, you will get the chance to meet the Church coordinator and Anglican Vicar who will be conducting your ceremony. You will have a short interview with the vicar to establish your religious beliefs / backgrounds; it also gives them a chance to find out a little bit about you to make the service more personal to yourselves. He will also go through the vows with you. With the Church co-ordinator you will have a discuss music choices for the ceremony. As the interview between you and the church is personal, your wedding co-ordinator will not be able to attend.
What about music for the ceremony? At the Town Hall, the wedding march will be played, however if you have any CD’s / Cassettes with you or a special song that you would like to be played, please feel free to ask as this can be arranged. If you have a song and you do not have it with you then please ask your wedding co-ordinator who will do her best to try and find this for you. For church ceremonies, you will discuss your music choices at you personal interview.
What happens on our wedding day?
Your Wedding Co-ordinator will be at the hotel before the wedding to ensure that everything has been organised. The flowers will already have been delivered to the brides’ room and if anyone needs any assistance in pinning on buttonholes / corsages she will be available to help with this. Should the bride need any assistance in getting dressed or help with the young ones, then please do not hesitate to ask, as she will be only too glad to help. The co-ordinator will make sure everyone leaves on time and then phone the bride in her room to let her know the wedding car has arrived and how long she has before she needs to leave. The co-ordinator will then travel to the wedding location and help with the seating of the guests and getting the groom and best man into position before the bride arrives. The marriage officer / Anglican minister will start the ceremony. You will be asked to exchange your vows, which you will repeat after the marriage officer. The groom always goes first and then the bride. You will then exchange rings, again first the groom and then the bride. Now you must sign three copies of your marriage certificate, one copy goes with you on the day, one stays at the Town Hall / Church for their records and the third copy gets sent to the Ministry of Interior in Nicosia, who will register your marriage with the British Embassy. You are now Husband and Wife.
What happens after the wedding?
After the ceremony your Wedding Co-ordinator will leave you and your guests to enjoy the rest of your wedding day, yet she is only a phone call away should you need any further assistance. Your wedding co-ordinator will arrange to see you before you leave to check everything was ok and that most of all you enjoyed your day.
What wedding extras are available in Sitges?
We have put together a list of wedding extras. You can be confident that the suppliers we use have been selected for their expertise, professionalism, excellent customer service and competitive prices. You do not have to worry about picking up flowers or cakes, as these will all be delivered to your hotel and/or reception venue. You do not have to worry about the transport not turning up on time or the photographer knowing where your wedding is, as your Sitges wedding co-ordinator will ensure all details have been passed onto them.
When do we get to meet the photographer?
The photographer will meet you at your chosen wedding location and will take photographs before, during and after the ceremony at the wedding location. The photographer will also take photos at The Square Weeding Venue. The photographer will take more photographs than you have requested in order for you to have a choice for your album. They will follow a set programme, however if you have any specific photographs that you would like taking other than what has been taken, please do not hesitate to ask as the photographers are very flexible and aim to please. The photographer will arrange to meet you the day after the wedding to show you the proofs. From these proofs you will need to select the chosen quantity booked in your package and these will be enlarged for your wedding album. If you require any additional photographs apart from the ones arranged, or enlargements, then this can be arranged directly with the photographer. You will also be given the option to buy all the proofs and / or CD. The proofs will be left with you for a day or two, then the photographer will collect the order, make it up and will then deliver your photographs and album back to your hotel so you can make up the album to suit your preferences. The photographs will be delivered to you before you leave, however at busy times it could be late in the evening the night before you go home. You are certain to take home some fantastic photographs, which will make your big day even more memorable.
What will the Video/DVD be like?
The cameraman will meet you at your chosen wedding location and will follow the same routine as the photographer. The video usually lasts approximately 30 – 45 minutes depending on the type of wedding and number of people attending and of course, it is UK VHS compatible. The video will be delivered with your photographs after it has been edited and music added. If you would like any specific music on the video then this can be arranged (again if you do not have the song with you ask your wedding co-ordinator). If you want extra copies for family and friends these can also be arranged and will be delivered with your final order.
What choice of flowers is there for my bouquet?
We have put together a selection of fresh flowers for you to choose from for your bridal bouquet, buttonholes and bridesmaids flowers. Your wedding co-ordinator will be able to show you pictures of bouquets and help and advise you if you are not sure on what style to choose. If you have something specific that you would like then please do not hesitate to ask. We can ask the florist if it is available in Sitges, or if you have a picture to show this would be even better. We can generally get any colour of flower that you require and if we can’t then the florist will spJohn them for you. The flowers will be delivered to your hotel by the florist a couple of hours before the wedding. We can also arrange for flowers for your reception venue and standing arrangements for the wedding location. We can also arrange any additional flowers that you may require for presents, and flowers for your hair as well.
How do we get to the wedding?
The traditional way is by a decorated bridal car, which is usually a black, or white air- conditioned 4- seater Mercedes decorated with ribbon. To give your day more of a local Spanish feeling, why not arrange a traditional vintage bus to take your family and friends to your wedding venue. We can also arrange additional transport for your guests such as taxis, a minibus or a coach. The choice is yours but however you travel you will feel like a million dollars as the passing crowd will stop and gaze in awe and motorists toot their horns to leave you in no doubt that this is your “Big Day”.
What sort of cake?
After the ceremony it is off to the reception venue for photographs, a champagne toast and of course the cutting of the cake. You have a choice of cakes either sponge or fruit, in a choice of one or two tiers. You could even have one tier fruit and one tier sponge. For something that little bit different, you could also choose a chocolate sponge cake. The cakes are generally white in design and decorated with a bride and groom or a floral decoration. If you have brought your own decoration then please give this to your wedding co-ordinator who will arrange for this to be put on the cake for you.
Can you arrange a hairstylist / beautician?
Most of the hotels have hairdressing salons in them, which you can use for convenience. Speak to your wedding co-ordinator who will be able to advise you on what the salon is like. We also have a reputable hairdresser who is UK trained and is experienced in wedding designs and styles. For ease and convenience for you, our stylist will come to your room on the morning of the wedding, leaving you more time to relax to enjoy your preparations! If necessary, a trial appointment can also be arranged. If you require, it can be arranged for you to have your make up done after your hair is finished. Please ask your wedding co-ordinator to book the appointments for you, as the appointments are limited. We can also arrange for Bridesmaids, and any other party members that require appointments as well. Not forgetting the groom if he needs a last minute trim. The appointments will be made to ensure that you have enough time to get ready and add those finishing touches. If you or any member of your party would like to have their nails done we can also arrange for this for you. Services available are acrylic nail extensions, manicures and pedicures. Speak to your wedding coordinator who will be able to arrange appointments for you.
What about the reception?
Now you can totally relax and let the celebrations begin. No receptions are too big or too small and whatever your needs we can cater for them. Your wedding co-ordinator will be able to show you menus and discuss all your requirements with you at your initial meeting and make recommendations. These can be as simple or as extravagant as you like. The cost will vary depending on what you choose but we have provided some sample menus and prices in our Wedding Shop. You can also choose the type of entertainment and music you prefer. Your Sitges wedding co-ordinator will be able to discuss your requirements with you and go over all the details. Or if you have your own ideas, please discuss your requirements with your wedding co-ordinator who will be only too happy to go through all the details and help with the arrangements for you.
